Surge protector (SPD) is an indispensable device in lightning protection of electronic equipment. Its working principle is that under normal circumstances, SPD is in a very high resistance state, thus ensuring the normal operation of power supply system. When the power supply system gradually increases with the surge current and voltage, the resistance of SPD continues to decrease, and SPD is immediately turned on in nanosecond time, and the surge energy is discharged into the ground through SPD; After the surge, the surge protector quickly reverts to the high impedance state, thus not affecting the normal power supply of the system.

3. LPZ1 Area Every object in this area cannot be struck by lightning directly, and the current flowing through each conductor is smaller than that in LPZOB area, so the lightning electromagnetic field in this area may be attenuated, depending on shielding measures.

4. Subsequent lightning protection areas (LPZ2, etc.) When the lightning current and electromagnetic field need to be further reduced, the subsequent lightning protection zone should be introduced, and the required conditions of the subsequent lightning protection zone should be selected according to the environment required by the system to be protected. All power lines and signal lines enter the protected space LPZ1 from the same place, and are equipotentially connected on the equipotential bonding belt 1 located in LPZOA and LPZ1 (generally grounded in the incoming room).
