1. In order to reliably prevent lightning attack, an antenna feeder lightning arrester can be connected in series at the output end of the antenna and the input end of the protected equipment. In areas with less lightning, only one antenna can be used without an amplifier.
2. The effectiveness of coaxial surge protector largely depends on its installation, especially its connection with grounding grid. The following points must be strictly observed:
Equipotential grounding grid: all installed protectors must be connected to a single grounding point (or grounding grid), and the connection between surge protector and grounding grid shall be optimized: in order to minimize the residual voltage drop caused by surge discharge current, the wiring of grounding grid must be as short as possible (less than 50cm), the cross section of grounding conductor shall be as large as possible (minimum 4mm2), and the other end shall be reliably connected with the grounding bus of lightning protection system, The “straight through” installation (directly installed on the grounding plate with flange) can be selected. The installation position of the protector: it is most suitable to be installed at the inlet end of the line (limiting the inflow of surge current) and near sensitive equipment (improving the protection effect). 3. When using antenna feeder lightning protection outdoors, attention must be paid to waterproof, and rain must not be immersed into it to cause corrosion damage.
4. This product does not require special maintenance. When the system fails, the lightning arrester can be removed and then checked. If the system returns to the state before using the lightning arrester, it indicates that the lightning arrester has been damaged and must be replaced immediately. If possible, regularly check whether the nominal on voltage of the antenna feeder lightning arrester meets the index requirements. If it exceeds the tolerance, it must be replaced.
