Measurement and Control Devices

Measurement and Control Devices
Measurement and control devices are used in a wide variety of applications, such as production plants, building management, heating systems, alarm devices, etc. Overvoltage due to lightning or other reasons will not only cause harm to the control system, but also to expensive converters and sensors. Failure of control systems often results in product loss and impact on production. Measurement and control units are often more sensitive to surge overvoltages than power systems.

hint:
1. You should stay indoors and keep doors and windows closed; those who work outdoors should hide in buildings.

2. It is not advisable to use TVs, stereos and other electrical appliances without lightning protection measures or insufficient lightning protection measures, and it is not suitable to use faucets.

3. Do not touch antennas, water pipes, barbed wire, metal doors and windows, exterior walls of buildings, and keep away from live equipment such as wires or other similar metal devices.

4. Reduce the use of telephones and mobile phones.

5. Do not swim or engage in other water sports. It is not suitable to play outdoor ball games. Leave the water and other open spaces to find a place to hide.

6. Do not stand on the top of the mountain, on the roof or other objects with high conductivity.

7. Do not handle flammable items contained in open containers.

8. When it is impossible to hide in buildings with lightning protection in the wilderness, keep away from trees and masts.

9. It is not advisable to use an umbrella in an open field, and it is not advisable to carry badminton, golf clubs, etc. on your shoulders.

10. It is not advisable to drive a motorcycle or ride a bicycle.

11. In the gap of about one minute between two lightning strikes, you should hide as much as possible in a place where you can protect it. If the above conditions are not met, you should immediately squat with both knees, bend forward, and tuck your knees with both hands.

12. In the wild, you can also rely on taller trees for lightning protection, but remember to keep at least two meters away from tree trunks and leaves. By analogy, it is not advisable to stay under isolated chimneys, next to tall metal objects, or under telephone poles. Also, it is not safe to stand under the eaves, it is better to enter the building immediately.

13. If you hold metal umbrellas, golf clubs, axes, etc. in your hands during a thunderstorm, you must throw them away or make them lower than the human body. There are also some so-called insulators, like hoes, that are not actually insulating during thunderstorms.

14. During thunderstorms, avoid standing under the lamp line when turning on the lights indoors.

15. It is not advisable to use a shower. Because the water pipe is connected to the lightning protection ground, the lightning current can be conducted through the water flow and cause casualties.
